  • #TBT to Sunday, Aug. 11 and the UMKC School of Nursing & Health Studies White Coat Ceremony!

The ceremony is a rite of passage for nursing students and marks an important first step on their road to becoming a nurse. Central to the ceremony is the recitation of the Student Nurse’s Oath, a vow to provide compassionate care for their patients. The 104 students who participated received their white coats and a ceremonial pin that serves as a visual reminder of their oath and commitment to providing high quality care. The white coats will be crucial for their time at UMKC because they’ll put in 1,200 clinical hours while at the university.

    Congratulations to all!

  • “My parents believed in Kansas City, and they believed in UMKC as a key engine for progress in the community they loved" - Tom Bloch

Less than a year after they created a $20 million scholarship program, the Bloch Family Foundation is making another generous gift of $21 million to UMKC for student programming and updates to the Bloch Heritage Hall. “The commitment of the Bloch Family to Kansas City and to Kansas City’s university has been steadfast, highly impactful and beyond generous,” says Chancellor Mauli Agrawal.
