  • GBC radiology student, Amanda Page, was recently selected to attend the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Student Leadership Development Program this summer in Orlando, Florida.Only two radiology students per state are selected to attend the annual program. University of Nevada, Las Vegas radiology student Kimberly Grzybicki will also be in attendance with Page.

  • In collaboration with GBC, the University of Nevada, Reno Social Work program offers a dynamic schedule for students who reside in rural Nevada and wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree in social work. Tony Frazier is a United States Marine Corps Veteran who is in his senior year of the 3 + 1 program. He was offered a full-time job as a juvenile corrections officer after completing his second internship shadowing local juvenile and adult probation officers.   • Today Great Basin College GEAR UP hosted 40 students from Beatty, Pahrump, Wooster, Perhsing County and Tonopah high schools for the 2019 STEAM Workshops! Students chose workshops that were of interest to them including 3D printing, jewelry making, technical theater, technical writing, science of fitness, Arduino computer programming, health sciences, millwright and instrumentation! GEAR UP is a federally funded grant and stands for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs.

  • The Great Basin College Theatre Program will hold auditions for their summer production of Incredible Stories and Other Back Issues, Thursday and Friday March 7 and 8 from 5 to 7 PM and Saturday March 9 from 1 to 3 PM. Incredible Stories and Other Back Issues is the full-length play debut of local playwright, GBC English Instructor, and arts advocate Josh Webster.The production will be staged June 13 through the 15th and June 20th through 22nd.
