  • Joshua Paquette '19, a psychology major with a minor in criminal justice studies, joined an undergraduate research project to get the skills he'll need to succeed in graduate school. "During my sophomore year, I started looking for research opportunities to help my grad school application be more competitive. Professor Harlan was starting up a new lab at the time and now I've been working with him for the past two years. I think the opportunities that I had here to develop skills that you can't get in a classroom – such as data collection, analysis, working with participates, and writing journal papers – helped set my application apart. I'll be pursuing my doctorate in clinical psychology in the fall." #KSCINBRE #undergradresearch

Cora's research is about looking at the transgender experience of being misgendered through the lens of philosophy. "I guess I would like people, especially cisgendered people” – those who identify with the gender they were assigned at birth – “to understand that there is a lot that goes into this interaction in day-to-day life," she said. Our campus is not unfamiliar with this genocide as it's often discussed in our Holocaust & genocide studies and sociology programs. Dr. Therese Seibert, a sociology professor, teaches a class every two years called Rwandan Society and Genocide. Dr. Seibert incorporates what she has learned from conducting research in Rwanda into the class. Her goal is to raise awareness of health and human rights issues in Rwanda. 🇷🇼
