We've announced two new 3+1 programs in engineering technology to meet the great demand for workers who are experts in the practical application of science and engineering concepts in the workplace.
These new degrees, Electrical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology, will be offered exclusively at Rowan College at Burlington County's Mount Laurel Campus as part of our Engineering Technology Department.

Due to the weather forecast unfortunately we have two event cancelations. Please see the announcements below.
33rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast
It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the 33rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast. Glassboro and the surrounding areas are expected to receive a significant amount of precipitation over the weekend with temperatures below freezing Sunday night and all day Monday. The combination of these factors are predicted to create hazardous travel conditions and, while we are saddened by this cancellation, the safety of our guests and all those involved with the event is our top priority. For further questions, please contact the Rowan University Foundation office at 856-256-4095.
Lunar Eclipse Viewing Party
Due to forecasts predicting clouds and low temperatures, we will be canceling the Lunar Eclipse Viewing Party scheduled for Sunday, January 20. Thanks to everyone who was planning to attend! Hope for clear skies for our next Observatory Open House on February 11. You can also visit the Edelman Planetarium for any of our public shows including our eclipse themed show, Totality. Our current schedule runs through March 17. Live streams of the eclipse are available at Slooh.com or timeanddate.com/live.

Through the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering’s new Sustainable Facilities Center, students gain experience using cutting-edge technology to save energy, money and the environment. The Center may be “new,” but the award-winning projects on which it was founded include longstanding, ongoing collaborations with the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and Army National Guard. #RowanPROUD
The Prof never backs down from a challenge. In fact, he'll raise the 10 year challenge to a 30 year challenge.
For generations, students have grumbled about the ever-rising cost of textbooks, and with good reason. A pilot program starting this spring is aimed at eliminating the cost of texts for some classes by substituting free, online materials for pricey, paper-bound books. Why did you choose your major? “I chose my major, mathematics/education, because I didn’t have a great teacher when I was in high school. I believe every child deserves–not only a good teacher–but a mentor. Also, I believe we need more minorities in the classroom—particularly men. There is a lack of diversity in teaching in U.S. schools and we as the people need to fix that.” - Lawrance ‘22

Hey 2019, we are ready for you. Happy New Year, Profs! Tag a Prof below to wish them good luck in the new year.
We are #RowanPROUD to announce that the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Ed has honored us a Carnegie R2 classification, naming us just 1 of 139 of more than 4,300 colleges and universities across the country with this distinction.
Phil Davis '11 is among TIME Magazine's Persons of the Year. Davis, who started as an engineering major, said his freshman year self would not believe it if he had been told where his career would take him.
“This is quite the different path,” he said. “If you had told the 18 year old me that I would be honored nationally for writing, I’m not sure I would have believed you. It’s weird and conflicting.” #RowanPROUD
Russell J. Buono, PhD, and Thomas N. Ferraro, PhD, professors in the department of biomedical science at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, collaborated on an important study published in Nature Communications that identifies 11 new epilepsy genes not previously linked to the disease. The discovery triples the number of known susceptibility genes for epilepsy and provides critical clues for further research.
Rohrer College of Business students, Mike Lombardo and Kayvon Jahanbakhsh, are prime examples of how far an education here at Rowan can take you. Their small business, Topos Teas, was recently picked up by a local Whole Foods Market. #RowanPROUD
