It has been an incredibly difficult week for our community following the tragic loss of student Skylar Williams. Students, faculty or staff wanting to talk with leadership, counselors and public safety professionals can join us Friday at noon in the Student Union (Eisenhower, 2nd floor). Dean Norman Jones will be joined by Tessa Bianchi, campus counselor, and Monica Moll, Director of Public Safety for all Ohio State University campuses.
Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Skylar Williams. Her death is a terrible tragedy that has left our campus community deeply shocked and saddened. My thoughts and prayers are especially with all those who knew and loved her. President Drake has also shared his deepest sympathies and condolences on behalf of the entire university community.
I am mindful of all the members of our community who have come together to help our students and campus during this traumatic time. To all of you, I am profoundly grateful. Please know that support services continue to be available through the Student Assistance Program.
In sympathy,
Norman Jones

The Mansfield campus will re-open at 12 noon tomorrow (Thursday 1/31) when wind chills are predicted to rise out of the dangerously low temperatures we are currently experiencing. All classes scheduled to begin before noon tomorrow are canceled, and the campus will be closed to all non-essential personnel until noon.
All Thursday classes, events, and services that would typically occur after 12noon will proceed as usual tomorrow.
Due to the extremely cold wind chill forecast for tomorrow, and out of concern for the health and safety of our staff, faculty, and students, the campus will be closed tomorrow—Wednesday, January 30—including all day and evening classes, programs, and events.
