  • CPP is among the nation's best at retaining first-year students.

Among four-year public universities with an acceptance rate above 50%, The Chronicle of Higher Education ranked us 30th in the country with an 89% retention rate in 2016, 14 points above the national average and six behind top-ranked University of Wisconsin-Madison.

A high percentage of Pell Grant recipients tends to lower retention rates, but we were are a unique exception with 43% of our students receiving those grants.

  • You never know what connection may help you land your first job. For these two Broncos, it was Greek life.

    πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“Dolores Gastineau (β€˜87, marketing)
    Fraternity: Zeta Tau Alpha

"When I interviewed for my first job out of college, I noticed the interviewer was wearing a fraternity ring. I asked him about it, and we exchanged our Greek Life memories. I was able to establish a connection, and it helped me get my first job."

πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“Ivan Flores (’14, electronics and computer engineering technology)
    Fraternity: Lambda Theta Phi

"I took a chance, and I found my first job through a fraternity brother. Greek life taught me to get out of my comfort zone and network with different people. I met a fraternity brother from another chapter, and he told me about a job opening. I work in that position today. Take advantage of the community around you, and network now."
