The National Weather Service has issued an Ice Storm Warning for portions of north central and northeast Illinois, including University Park, from 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, until 6 a.m. Wednesday, February 6.

Freezing rain is expected to cause significant ice accumulation on sidewalks, roads, and parking lots, creating hazardous walking and driving conditions.
Due to the extreme weather conditions, Governors State University is canceling 7:30 p.m. classes on Tuesday. The campus also will close at 7:30 p.m.
Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, February 6.

Students should check Blackboard for assignments and information regarding your classes. Instructors will be responsible for making suitable arrangements regarding missed class meetings and handling other academic responsibilities.

While online instruction may continue, faculty will not penalize students who do not participate during a university-declared suspension of classes.

For more information, please visit our website at www.govst.edu or call 708-534-5000.
